The film was made in response to Stoke-on-Trent being granted City Status in 1925 by King George V (newsreel of this occasion is on “Stoke-on-Film, 1900-1930”). Activities, facilities and locations are shown throughout the Potteries. Professionally produced, the fine quality sequences show fascinating detail. The film covers:- Health Department (maternity and child welfare), Cleansing and Refuse Departments, Stanfield Sanatorium, Engineer & Surveyor’s Department (housing, roads, traffic and parks), Sewage Department, Gas Department, Fire Department, Constabulary, Museums, Electricity Department, Education Department.
